comptech icebox V's aem v1 sound ?
have aem cai on my vti at the mo and love it but wouldnt mind quieter intake. what does the icebox sound like compared to aem ?
love the aem noise when it hits vtec but want somethin quieter under 5000rpm.
does the comptech come as full kit like aem where every little bolt needed comes with the kit and goes straight on and fits pretty much perferct.

the louder it is, the less restriction you're placing on your system...keep it loud, keep it fast....except for a turbo of course.

biggest bunch of **** ever! Believe it or not, louder does not mean faster or more power.
Anyways, back to the original question....the comptech icebox makes more power than the aem. I have seen numerous, unrelated dyno charts that prove this statement. The Comptech box will sound pretty much like stock, as it is an actual air box that covers the filter. However it has the cold air extension on the underside of the box. It is a very good, top notch intake system.
And for you AEM queers, I have seen with my own eyes, a stock airbox with stock filter make more power than the AEM CAI. Go ahead and call BS on that, I know you will anyways. Throttle response can be very deceptive.

sounds like just what i need.
cant see how stock airbox can be better than cai like aem. hasnt this been dyno proven many times.
anyway does the icebox scream like the aem at vtec ?
little lost by cold air pipe mentioned for ice box. does it not come as full cai kit including filter, box and piping ?
what is the filter quality, filtration like compared to the k&n on the aem ?
finally how much can i expect to pay for full kit in u.s ?

The icebox comes in two parts. The Comptech short-ram intake, then the icebox is an additional part that bolts directly up to it.

Options auto salon has the both of 'em for 350 total, for the ITR. I know because I'm fighting myself over whether or not to order one, since my motor will be installed in just a few days. Don't know how much it'll be for yours, but it shouldn't be too far off.
