as long as you go with a reptuable company like, Dei or compustar. You should not have any problems. Make sure it is installed correctly. If you are not sure about installing it yourself take it to a dealer and have it installed there.

compustar i have had it for overy 3 yrs and still working great
besides the shock sensors messing up, but it was covered under warranty and got a new one for free
and the auto-start is great haven't had problem with that, also it will work with a turbo timers
the 2way pager is good for about 1/4-1/2 mile distances after that it shows nothing, and the distance is reduced if you park underground where there is thick concrete blocking the remote

DEI timers have to be manually set everytime you get out the vehicle. You have to hit both buttons at once. Compustar can be put in the mode and set to stay running everytime you leave the car.
