89 Civic Si Rotors and Calipers???
I just wanna know if the Rotors from the 88-89 and 90-91 are different??? and also the calipers?? And is there a newer model that is compatible? I bought the KVR performance rotors and they are too thick to squeeze in between the pads. Thanks
i have had this problem many times. when ever i buy new rotors and new pads they are always too think and you can spin the rotor. what i usually do then is take off the stainless steel shims and it gives me just enough room to make it all go back together with out locking up the rotor
ok but I went on slhondaparts.com and i searched 89 and 91 rotors, now the item codes were different. but then i closed the 91 and then searched 88 d/x not Si for 88 and the rotors were the same codes for 88 and 89. I went to Honda today and the parts guy asked his buddy if the 88-89 and 90-91 rotors were different and the guy said yes. Its a different part #???

yes they are different. my 89 i had, had 90 front brakes and this one is really weird my 92 which is a 5th gen has 90 rear brakes.... go figure
no, the only reason they are there is to dampen any vibration from the pad its self which could turn into squeel. i have to run mine with out them its the only way it will work
