Went to the strip for the first time in the ITR since building the 2.0L.

It happened to be the first of five import drag events at the track. I ran under the Street Class: N/A group, which consisted of about 24 cars. The racing was all heads-up, so first one down the track wins, and to my surprise I came out on top. Not too shabby for being the second time at the strip with the R since '03.

The points leader at the end of the series gets over $500 in prizes and possible sponsorship from Spoon (go figure, Spoon sponsoring a drag event...), so I will probably try and go to the next four just to see if I can get some free stuff.

It looked like you still were spinning a bit with the drag radials, are you allowed to run slicks in that class? Makes me want to go to the drag strip

The class restrictions are: Full interior, Full exhaust, and DOT Drag radials/street tires only, no slicks.

It was very colllldddd that day, high 30's track temp. The big turbo guys with 24" slicks were only pulling 1.9 60's. I'm hoping for high 12's when the weather gets more warm.

Thanks Its a substitute for the track while I piece together my oil cooler and cage. After the troubles last season, I need some more peace of mind on the track before something really bad happens.
