Default jl cleansweep in 2006 civic

Does any one know if the civic ex 4 dr stereo changes the bass and treble setting as the volume goes up? Here's why, the cleansweep will only work best if you use their volume switch, keeps the sigal flat to the amp If so then the steering wheels controls are out and that's what i do not want to happen when i install focal speakers and jl 300/4 amp.I want to use the stock stereo.Any help would be welcome and thank you

Yes the cleansweep will work and I am sure the steering wheel controls should still work, as they are connected to the HU.
We have not done one in an 06 Civic yet at our location, I will check with the other stores, [22 of them] and see if anyone has done one yet.
BTW why to you want to keep the oem HU? 94

Oem headunits are always a weak link, and if you weren't aware, you can always integrate steering wheel contols to aftermarket decks.

Function over form. The stock deck has a crappy d.a.c., no crossovers, etc etc. Basically if you're trying to add those components(focal and jl bits) to your system it will sound a lot better, but not as good as if you get the whole package imo.

rockford also has a new piece called the 360. it is supposedly better than the cleansweep but I havent heard it in action yet. just thought Id offer another option. also you can use a p-swix to keep your steering controls for an aftermarket deck if you decide to do so. just my .02

OK rookietl I spoke to the other install supervisors and we have installed 3 of the cleansweeps in 06 Civics, one has since been removed and an aftermarket HU was installed, although SQ is much better with the cleansweep amps and speakers including sub/s on all 3, the lack of control with the oem HU was the deciding factor for the one customer the returned the cleansweep in favor of an aftermarket HU, things like sub control, the HU that was installed was the Alpine DVA-9861... http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/p...tab=F which surprised the hell out of me because we don't even have that HU in stock at our location, and will not till the end of this month or beginning of next month
I think it had something to do with the Alpine rep going one up on the JL Audio rep. 94

BTW, we have done more then a few aftermarket HU in 06 Civics, about 5 at our location, enough that the local Honda dealer stocks the trim piece we need.
