this is weird, help!
last week i bought a 89 crx si, the car wouldnt rev past 3k. the ecu is throwing code 4 which is the crank angle sensor. i looked it up and its in the distributor, so i went ahead and got a new distributor and already installed it. fire it up and the car wont rev past 3k and ecu is throwing code 4. whats happening? is there something im missing?
thanks for your help
cliff notes: wont rev past 3k, code 4 on ecu, changed distributor and still have the same problem

do u have a swap?mine did this when i did my d16a6 swap and i couldnt figure it out for like 7 months
come to find out place racing instructions sucked and they told me not to hook the 2 expletive wires up for the crank angle sensors.check your ecu wiring b10 and b12 i believe.dont hold me to it though

is it running funny? other than not revving past 3 obviously..what harness are you using? if the wires to the ecu check out ok i would check timing.. or if a buddy has a known good obd0 ecu swap it out with yours and see if its still got the problem
The sensor is in the distributor. Check the two wires. There has to be some sort of connection not being made.
The code can also mean that the car is out of time, not just that the sensor is bad. From my experience I had mine going away when it was in time. For instance, I did my VTEC head swap, and was off a tooth and i was getting a CYP (Cylinder Position Sensor) code. Once I adjusted the timing belt and fired it up it went away. Nothing was actually wrong w/ the CYP. Not sure if the CAS works exactly the same way, I would assume though. So check the wiring, then check the timing.
