What is this yellow/brownish stuff on my intake mantifold? I'm assuming its engine oil...

 

i don't see any leaks.. could be flash rust, no clue...

Well, considering its aluminum, it would not be rust.

Could be fuel stains as well as oil, but its too light in color to be oil, in my opinion.

Have you tried to clean it off?

 

Could be orange coolant but you shouldn't have that in your engine.

its fuel, if some got sprayed on there and then allowed ot evaporate it will leave those marks, you should be able to just wipe it up with some solvent

 

looks like oil...you should have it all over your hood too

 

It's not all over my hood. I tried using simple green with a microfiber towel, and it barely comes off. What is this and what can I do to prevent this from happening again?

 

Simple green wont do anything to that manifold, at least try some brake cleaner.

Edelbrock manifolds also discolor over time, mine has oxidized over time.
