i'm about to fab a strut bar for my prelude (98 base model) designed after the dc2 type-r strut bar . i would like to add a triangular firewall brace to the design as well, but i can't seem to find a good spot to bolt onto the firewall. theres the throttle cable holder/bracket thing, but thats only 1 connecting point, and i would like for there to be at least 2 on the firewall. anyone have any 3 point strut bars on their lude? or have any ideas where to mount the bar to the firewall? if i can't get at least 2 points o nthe firewall, i will just make a traditional 2 point strut bar .

edit: also, can anyone post pics of their strut bars so i can get an idea of how hood clearance is going to be? all the pics i've seen are pointing downward, so i can't really tell how high up the bar sits when installed. TIA!

 

passwordjdm.com has been working on building a production piece here, i emailed them a few months ago to see where they were at with it and they said sometime around this year.

 

wow that was quick. i've also heard about this, but i'm tired of waiting, plus this will be a fun project and will save me some $$$.

 

you will need beefier mounts than that tack welded 10mm bolt if you want the bar to be making anything rigid....

weld some 14mm bolts onto the back of the firewall, through it....
