Default Notchy DC Sports Short Shifter. Yes, I searched...

I came up with nothing when searching for " notchy short shifter ", even in the archives. If you find links, please let me know.

I installed a DC Sports ss a few years ago, and im just beginning to get sick of the problem it's giving me. It's very notchy when going in/out of gears, mainly 1st-2nd. I can't even shift fast because it won't go into gear if I do. The bolt connecting the linkage to the ss is not too tight; if anything it's too loose. What could be the problem? I figure grease would help the situation, but the notchiness can't be due to just the grease....

My friend has a skunk 2 and it's smooth as butter. I don't want to shell out $90 for another SS though. I was contemplating getting an Ebay shifter, but have no idea of their quality, and if it would be better than my current DC Sports.

Any input? TIA
