there isnt much in the way of aftermarket support fo rthe d16y5 motor. between some ingenuity and creative work, you can have a pretty kickass project.

Bense is the nearest thing to an NX expert we have here at the moment, he and spade and brext0r have all done some pretty thorough research on the engine and what its capable of. Since you dont want to go f/i, hand around in the all motor forum and ask questions there.

Have fun and good luck with your build!

That's the 1st project that was never completed. My project is in my sig.

what he said. There are tons of things that you can do to you car to make it a lot faster. Regardless of whatever it is that you do. The most beneficial thing will always be to read and learn. Don't get caught up in the having the most horsepower hype. There will always be someone faster. Not addressing you specifically, but I have seen SO many people come on here wanting to be the fastests.

Regardless of your intention to be turbo/supercharged/all motor. No matter what you're going to want to get an ex tranny.

your car has a unique 3.722 final drive that only comes in 96-00 cx hatches. dx's and lx's all have 4.058 final drives which make the gearing better.

Ex tranny is the first step. no worries about tuning. No conversion harnesses. none of that. Just Better acceleration

Good Luck in your research. Every question that you can come up is more than likely on this site.
