Default Help an ex-R owner out please.

I need some advice.... well my '97 R got stolen about a month ago and it was never recovered. it's been 30 days since and my insurance is offering me 13,300 for it....... does that sound about right? my car had 75000 miles. i had the JDM front end put onto the car about a year and a half ago and the adjuster told me i wouldn't get anything for it because it's been over a year.

i pay 3000/year for insurance and now i feel like i'm getting raped......
what should i do to get more money out of those f**kers????

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

that's super low...you need to make sure they aren't giving you GSR pricing...you also may want to look for ads w/ people selling their 97's for comparisons...

**** them, especially at 3K/yr...I wouldn't stand for that!

dealing with the insurance adjuster is like dealing with a used car salesman. they will lowball you initially. take your time and bargain up. if you can't get what you feel is reasonable, ask for another adjuster. whatever you do, don't sign anything that would constitute an agreement until you're happy with what they are offering for the car. BTW, I HATE insurance companies that do business like that! what is the name of yours so I can be sure to stay away from them in the future?

next time you're looking for insurance, (and you should look for another company... 3k/yr ?) try Hartford. they have been great for me. good luck with the settlement. BTW, sorry to hear about your R getting stolen.

note to self... stay away from Safeco!

Bro, tell them to pack sand! Do some research, find prices of other R's.

Good luck, I'm going through the same thing.

That is low. You should be looking at around 15-16k I would think. I would atleast try to get 15k out of them because they only made 500 97's if I remember correctly.

When a car gets stolen, do you HAVE to take the check? Or can you request they replace it with a similar vehicle? 13,3k is way too low...

Tell them you are going to contact your lawyer, the only thing insurance companies hate more than bad drivers is lawyers.
