dyno'ing funny car motors?
Sorry this isnt honda specific. But just a drag racer being curious, and stumped.
Well your funny car drivers who are going 4.50's-5.00's in the 1/4 mile at 320MPH are using the Hemi plateform, in which no dyno has been able to get the horsepower. People can only estimate using science. But the other day, I was touring the school I am planning to goto (North Western of Lima) for high performance engines.
While on the tour, they showed a funny car motor...on an engine dyno. When I asked was it able to read the HP, the tour guide didn't know and was unable to hunt down the teacher at that time.
So has there been some break through where now they can read the high horse power motors? or anyone else have any input?

These guys have run some nitro engines on a dyno. Its hard to collect data on an engine with a life span of around 5 seconds under full throttle load.Alcohol funny car guys can do some development work with a dyno.
