That SVR Battery which I never heard of looks like a wet cell battery from the pic. Personally I would recommend either the Stinger Yellow or Optima Yellow. Stinger is about $20 cheaper from http://www.hifisoundconnection.com

do not buy the optima,i had one in my car(no stereo, other than factory) it crapped out less than a month past end of warranty, and i also had a customer, with the same battery, same problem.(it lasted just over a year, the worst 119.00 dollars i've ever spent,i've installed literally hundreds of the optima batteries in all different applications, and have had a few similiar problems with other model batteries(optimas)i spent some time e-mailing optima and explained to them how often i stood behind their product, and they still wouldnt stand behind their product, even though it was less than half a month past warranty.there is a reason they are hard to get, they're crap.if anybody wants an r51 paper weight free stop by my store, ill give it to you free, its worthless.i swapped it out for a walmart special ,it was like 43.00,zero problems.i've had it for 7 months now.

Optimas have been having tons of problems latley. Just do a search about it. Im an Optima dealer and 4 out of the lst 5 sold have been defective no matter how much Optima denies it.

Im actually running an SVR battery right now. It is dry cell, but they dont have reverse terminals. Well at least when I got mine they didnt.

look into kenetik batteries or northstar.
then again it all depends on what you are planning on doing.

Anyone perfer the svr vs. stinger? Im kinda leaning towards stinger cuz there is more info on there site. The stinger has a little more amp hour, but the svr has a little more cca. The stinger says it will fit in honda/acura and the svr says nothing, im just guessing.

here is what im comparing:

http://www.svrbatteries.com/ba...id=22

what do you guys think

Is the SVR battery you have the SVR31-12? More importantly is it your only battery. I want to know if this will work as a starter battery and as a deep cycle. Also are the terminals reversed (positive on the right, neg. on the left)? And another ?, does it fit in the original spot?

Please if you can answer ASAP cuz i need a bat. soon.

it is my only battery, it fit in the stock loation but the label is on the wrong side so i turned it around but then the termanls would hit the hood so i made new battery try that sit lower and more toward the center of the car. but it did fit in the stock location, i had a str battery hold down and the notch for it was not wide enough so i mill it out a little, maybe the stock bracket will fit. or a battery hold down that is flat on the bottom will be fine.

sounds good. i dont think i care about a label being on the wrong side, just hope the pos. and neg. terminals are in the right spots so i dont have to turn it around.

sorry to bring this old thread back, but how are ppl running with those stinger battery now?

my optima yellow top died after 2 yrs... sad
and maybe that's why they don't even sell for honda/acura application anymore.

odyssey is suppose to come out their dry cell for honda/acura application soon, but nothing as of now.
