After the most recent round of hybrid tranny gearing in my ZC LSD tranny, I've got this problem:
See how far out the axle sticks from the tranny housing? That is the point at which the retaining clip stops it from coming out.
The probelm is that since it can flop in and out about 1/8", when it flops out, the oil seal is ineffective and it leaks.
I pulled it apart to examine things last night and could find nothing wrong with anything. The inner joint on that axle is a 90-93 Integra and the business end of it is the exact same length as other inner joints I've got here so it leads me to believe that the problem is in the diff - the point at which the diff splines end is too far out?
Does anyone else have this problem?

Impatience has forced me to attempt to try my idea of turning a second groove into the inner joint which will keep the axle fully seated into the tranny.
Looks like 20m.com sucks ***** on the picture hosting.
For those who've just got to see what I did, here's where the pictures are:

Did you mess up and not put the spacer back in on the diff? Does the diff move in the housing? Maybe it's on the wrong side of the case? Just throwing out ideas.

Yeah...don't get me thinking in that direction! The last thing I want to do is pull the tranny for exploratory surgery!
No, really...when I had it apart for the gearing change, all the shims/spacers/plastic oil directors were in there. I never took them out. The tranny was literally apart for about 2 hours. Also, I know they've always been in there, because on round 1 of hybrid gearing I went through measuring the diff. clearances, adjusing the shim thickness, etc...
All seems well with the newly grooved joint in there. Keep those fingers crossed.
