DC Sports for 06 Si?
I know there arent that many products out yet for the 06 si...but i just got done watching some of the Temple of VTEC videos about there project 06 si. I noticed that DC sports is there main supplier..mainly because that is only what is out right now. I know that better parts will arise soon..but..Would anyone reccomend going ahead with DC sports..or would it be smarter to wait for higher quality or more JDM products?
Wait for more products, since DC is one of the few companies out, they can charge whatever they want. Plus i suggest waiting and actually learning how to drive your car and harness the power you have now. Then once you mastered that, upgrade your parts to increase power
For the money spent it (intake/header/exhaust) provide some nice gains on the K20Z3.
The only problem for me personally at the moment is the CEL when using the "race" header ...

He makes a very valid point...however, I've found that the parts that DC does have out for the new Si are actually competitively priced. The AEM CAI is only $249 on www.raceperformanceparts.com; and the race header/exhaust package together is only a little over $800 on www.sportcompactonly.com. I think that he's right...there will definitely be a sea of parts available in the coming months; but in the past I've found DC products to provide a good bang for the buck. I personally am about to order the CAI/header/exhaust package, and hope to pick up the Greddy turbo kit once it gets passed the "prototype" stage. One thing is for sure...I've tried bolt-on parts in the past for both of my 3000GTs and my Supra turbo, but never got the kinds of results that these K20 engines get by adding the slightest modification. The cost/performance ratio of K20 bolt-on applications is much higher than most other cars. In other words, you can spend twice as much money for JUST an exhaust system for other cars and still not get the results that you'll get from your new Si.

Yeah. I currently drive a 2000 civic ex and went with comptech for the exhaust. I have a few other minor mods (Rota slips, sprint springs...etc.) but would have to say that i am 100% satisfied with the Comptech Sport Catback system.
I am in fact going to wait on the other companies to come out with a few products and am REALLY looking forward to what comptech has to offer. i am a huge fan of comptech and there products.
Thanks

Another thing i noticed on the TOV (Temple of VTEC) videos is that the DC sport single canister exhaust sounded actually pretty well and it seemed as though the entire DC Sport system (AEM intake, DC Sport Race Header and Exhaust) seemed to make a descent power gain. So DC sport may not just yet be out of the .

yea, but not just on those.. cuz TOV added cams lol

if you dont have a TOV account you might need one to log in, in order to view it but i recommend you do, they've got great reading material in there on the Si about the tires, suspension, overal handling and all good stuff to read

Yeah, my friend has a new Type-S and raves about the Comptech headers that he just installed. He's been wanting to line our cars up for weeks now...but obviously I don't want to until I can tune my car too! lol
I heard that Comptech was working on parts, but haven't seen any literature stating part specs or pricing specifics. Anyone have any advice before I proceed in ordering the DC package we were talking about above?
I bought this Si with a one-track mindset...GO FAST! And I'm ready to see what this K20 is capable of!!!

I have an NightHawk Black 2006 SI with Tein S-techs, AEM CAI, test pipe and Greddy Evo2 Catback.. I wouldn't get the the DC race header if i were you because one, you should have aftermarket motor mounts (like hasports) or energy suspention motor mount inserts and they aren't out yet. Two, DC Sport Race Headers on a stock computer, will lean the fuel and air mixture. So you need a computer.. and Hondata told me its gonna be a while until the k-pro is avalible, and Apexi says you shouldn't install their VAFC2 untill they do in house tests.

are you sure Greddy has a evo2 catback out for the 06 right now?
or did you get it custom welded from another year or something?

I cant wait for Comptech to drop what they are going to have. Im sure that comptech will provide parts that will be some of the top of the line products. I also beleive that what they offer will give significant power gains over other companies.

The race header for the SI comes with a flexpipe, which is different from the RSX-S. You do not need ESMM or motor mounts. Also could you post a picture of you car with the Evo2 catback on? I would like to see it!

The k20z3 stock runs EXTREMELY pig rich from the factory. Most of the power gains IMO are coming from leaning it out, not so much from better flow (although I am sure there are gains from piping diameter as well) I have over 100 miles on my DCRH, DC race catback, AEM CAI and have no issues with knocking/detonation. AEM/DC is a smart enough company to not release a product that will overly lean your car out, without at least noting the fact that you will need kpro.
I am assuming you must have previously owned a RSX-s or know someone that does. All your information is correct in certain variations. You should not use the hondata reflash with the race header, as THAT will lean it out to much. You should not use the race header on an 02-04 rsx-s without the ESMM inserts, cause there isn't a flex pipe.
