What are some inexpensive upgrades
i have a 1997 Accord LX 4D and im looking for cheap but good performance upgrades. I want something that i can build off of when i get the money. Any suggestions ?
Well everyone has there own definition of cheap. so tell us a budget or a price range then we can further help u.. although there are alot of things u can do performance wise, alot of it cost ALOT. so a price range will help us further give u advice.
Maybe some shocks.Like koni reds or Yellows but yellows cost a little more.
But they make your car handle better.
I'm not sure if you can use them with stock springs. Some of the other guys in here could tell you though. If you can the only down side to doing it in stages is you have to do basically the same work to the car each time you buy the parts.but it's good experiance.
Then you could build on it by saving for some springs and a camber kit.
When you drop a car any at all you have to get a camber kit so you don't wear out your tires.

we replaced all the fluids and theres no oil lean, there seem to be nothing wrong with it. the guy i got it from only had it for acouple weeks then bought a lexus. and he said he got it from the origonal owner. I seem to really like the Honda accord, as a car overall. off topic, im im the middle of putting my subs in it.
Hey Blkflsh I took your standing advice on my 90 ex
1 new rear motor mount
1 New brake mastercylinder
and a new sway bar link kit
just maintenance but the car runs so much better now.I feel alot better with my girlfriend and my 2 year old out in it.

Be careful making decisions on mods. If they are cheap, they are probably not "UP"grades, if you know what I mean. Honda's are reliable, because they are made out of quality parts. If you are going to change them out (Honda parts) just make sure they are good quality, and not a "DOWN"grade. Happy Hondaing
i was thinking something like this:
http://www.tirerack.com/suspen...s+Kit
if i get that althing thing else i should get?

neuspeed is another a brand i like because that's what i'm getting. eibach springs are very popular.
A SUPER cheap mod you can do is SeaFoam cleaning and/or a K&N drop in filter+removing the resonator.
Oil changes are great too. And changing the type of spark plugs you use is cost efficient. A few hundred could buy you a Cold-Air Intake from AEM.

I suggest you read the "basic guide" at the top of the Accord page (stickey threads). It explains what is best, second best, from the expert's point of view. I know next to nothing about aftermarket suspension systems. I was thinking about getting the Honda Factory Sport Suspension Package. I don't want to lower my car any more than that would.
