Default civic radio problems

i just put in a new deck in my 2000 Si . . i followed the wiring harness spec sheet to a t.

all grounds where that are need to be, but when i turn up the sound about "20" on the volume meter my speakers start cracking , then the higher i go they start giving feedback, like if you tuned into a bad AM station *lol*

anyway i checked my work over and over and all the wires are twisted really tight, and electrical taped to ****

any thoughts?

When you say "new" deck, is this a "brand new in box" deck or a "new to the car" deck??

And when you say that all the grounds are where they should be, do you mean that you connected the black wire from the deck to the black wire in the harness adapter, or did you make your own??

So you twisted the wire and then taped it? No solder. That's no good no matter how "tight" it is.

What brand of deck is it?

Are they the factory speakers? Take a look at them.
