The order in which you have the methods is the best. First TIG, then MIG, then Arc (would never recommend Arc/stick because it's very hard to do on thin metal).

When doing thick metal, is ARC alot easier? Say for a cage or something?

Manifolds are best done with a tig. I only arc weld when I need to weld something greater than .25".

tried all three processes(mig's arc'd and tig'd turbo manifolds), and tig's the best way to go

so mig is best bet if i cant find some one to tig

i am quite confident i can build it my self but have never welded in my life
but i do have access to a mig could i build it and spot weld it together and take it to some one to weld it properly or would the spot welds cause problems for the welder

None of those is better than the other. They are designed for different things and all work well when used as intended. For automotive applications GTAW or GMAW is preferred over SMAW. If you have never welded before a GMAW power supply would be recommended.

I wish I had money for a nice tig, but mig might be easiest for a non-experience welder...maybe.....

GTAW=Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG)
GMAW=Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG)
FCAW=Flux Cored Arc Welding (Flux core)
SMAW=Sheilded Metal Arc Welding (Stick)

There are a few others that aren't really applicable to the automotive industry.

I would recommend a MIG.
