This might be a awkward question but how much would it cost to get a Jap Spec Gsr, doesnt have to be new, it could be a 94+ gsr, I want to know how much the actual car would cost...with like about 80,000 miles on it or so....and how much it would cost to get over here and be legal meaning have insurance and stuff. Thanks guys im just looking for ballpark too, doesnt have to be exact costs. thanks
I know the states is a little different than canada and the cost depends on if you wanted it to be legal or not. If yes, you would have to provide crash testing data to the department of transportation. This means you would have to get your hands on someones data or ship a couple gsrs in from japan and crash them in the testing facility. Thest tests have to be done in the USA or canada. Then you would have to get a letter of compliance from the manufacture stating that the car is up to US standards. In canada, this is impossible. The dep. of trans. would never let anyone inport a vehicle from anywhere in the world cept northamerica. I know that there are some people importing r34's in to the US so contact them for more accurate info.
The other way is to import the cars as salavge. Dissasembled. Then when you got the car together in the States, you would have to run a Dealer plate on it.
There is a JDM Gsr at yoko where I am. No idea how he got it here. He won't even show anyone or admit that its true.

If you know somebody on TOD in Japan or Okinawa that is just finishing up, they usually get tax leeway and either reduced or no shipping costs for freight items when they move back. Altho, I suspect the vehicle would have to meet DOT specs before being allowed and certified.
