Default cross member problem (cant believe i was driving like this!)

the car was like this when i got it but i never paid much attention to the nocking in the front end or the fact that the car pulled to the right hard

what would you guys do?
this is on the p/s where the cross member bolts to the frame... one bolt is cut off in there and the other just spins on a nut like it is striped in
i need help from anybody who has been in one of these frames before
would this be safe to cut out like this or would it weaken the fram... the metal there is relativley thin so i could cut it with a die grinder (also i wouldint be able to get it welded in right away it might take a couple of weeks

there is a little hole so i can touch whatever bracket/nut that it screws into, it feels square

there is the bolt that is cut off in teh crossmember

this bolt is also bent back a little liek someone hit a curb really hard you can also notice that the bolt is not bolted up all the way but wont come out or go in any farther... even with air

and ontop of all that i notice that there is no bolt where the bar bolts to the spindle

to make everythign worse the wheel bearing howels also

I would fix it asap. I would cut it out exactly where you pictured it and weld it back in with a stich pattern, then go over the stich in a bead on both sides. should be perfectly fine when your done.

is it the front or rear frame bolt? if its the rear i would get a fullrace traction bar, it only uses one bolt and the tow hooks

thats exactly what i was thinking i was looking at one last night ($450) and i just saved up enough money to buy one of my friends ls/vtec's but i know this is more important and the track bar will throw me back a few weeks on the motor and it might not be around

might just have to wait a lil while logner for it... or wait around for another one

it is the rear bolt that is cut so if i do get it i might just have to weld it up, i was even thinking of welding the stock crossmember up but the ls/vtec my friend is selling me has a 4-1 header and will not clear it

yeah the full race is money, i have hte lcon bar which breaks the bolt on the tow hooks becuase its the only place it bolts to. (same basic problem as u) i broke 3 of hte 6 tow hook bolts and now my bar is welded to the frame, i filled in all the bolt holes with a plug weld nad welded around hte x member, now its strong as expletive.
