Default D15Z1 in an 88 Std, O2 sensor

I have a D15Z1 (93 VX) going into my baby, and the only parts I have yet to acquire are the little crap. The only BIG deal is the O2 sensor. I know the OEM 93 VX had a 5wire O2, and I am duplicating the OBD1 setup on my 88 Hatch (full OBD1/Vtec conversion and using the OEM 93 VX ECU). My question is this, though, can I use a 4 wire and get away with it or do I NEED the 5 wire to make it function properly?

I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming its intentionally a five wire for a reason.
I was extremely pissed when I found my other car needed this same type of o2 sensor. It was $390 something from the dealer and the direct fit from Autozone was $270ish and they didn't carry a universal version. Ridiculous!
Luckily I found a universal five wire on Ebay for about $60.

yeah, I don't want to pay more for a simple O2 sensor than the harness conversion kit. I am hoping I can get it to work with a 4 wire, if not I might be down a little bit longer til I can get one at a reasonable price

I think the CA model Civic VX uses a four wire sensor. You could always get a CA ECU and just wire up a four wire sensor. The sensor itself is MUCH cheaper.

I am fairly certain that the motor I have is a Cali motor anyways, that woud work quite well.

I also found this : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
I think if I had to do a 5 wire, it would work quite well.
