Default TYPE R TRANNY

i just bought a gsr today..and he said it has a type r tranny..how can i find out if its reallie a type r tranny??

The RPM in fifth gear is a good indicator. Stock GSR will read 4000RPM at 80MPH, 3000RPM at 60MPH, etc.

the r tranny is 300rpms shorter. at 80 mph u would be at 4300 rpms in 5th gear.

or I suppose you could do a burnout and see if both tires move LOL

look for the "LSD" stamp on the tranny... quick easy check

An open differential can also spin both wheels. A helical LSD is not the best for burnouts.
