accord axles on prelude...oops!
I took this accord axle out of an accord i had sitting around wrecked. The axles were pretty new at the time so i thought they would work out good. Well i guess the h22 puts too much power on the f22 axle. Has anyone else had this bad luck with accord axle on their h22?

the rest of it is still in the half shaft sitting next to the axle in the first pic. the axle is actually made differently than prelude ones however will fit them. I had to put an abs ring on it though because this axle was out of a 90 cb7 accord.

That's what I was going to say. It looks like nothing is broken on the axle except for the CV boot, because the inner joint simply pulled out. You could probably rebuild it and run it on an Accord just fine.
Anyway, now we know they're different lengths.

It seemed to fit fine when it was in. The only reason it popped out like that because the knuckle was unbolted on the top a-arm allowing it to pull back and pull the axle out. I never had any problem when i put it in. But oh well. Purhaps it was a little short and that is what caused it to go bad so quick.
can anyone verify accord axle lenght to prelude axle length? people say yuo can use accord driver side axles on prelude swaps..but we allknow bigger motors have intermediate shafts....
thanks for the tech guys.

intermediate/half shafts are on basically all FF or RR cars w/ a transaxle, not just ones with "large" motors, and my 4th gen accord stock axles have worked perfectly fine for the last 2+ years since i swapped in the h22a, we all know accord axles on an h22 accord work, i guess accord axles on an h22 prelude need adjustment to work...

I WAS PREPARING FOR things that i thought would go wrong.. all preludemotors have 1/2 shaft and shirt axle so I got it knocked out in one day. wiring was prolly the hardest part (moving the o2 plug to the back, adding the vtec sol/press sw., the IAB sol and the KS wires) other that, it was cake.
thanks guys
