There is a recall on some 7th gen cars (2003-present) due to secondary shaft lubrication problems. It's too early to tell if there is going to be any serious problems with the auto like there are with the 6th gen cars.

I've heard about a couple people having some problems (head unit lights going out) (rear brake pads wearing fast). I hear that Honda has for the most part taken care of them, even if they were past the warranty period. I have had two fuel pressure regulators changed on my 03 (long cranking before starting). I would definitely recommend getting one. The V6 has moocho power. The 4cyl. is probably just as powerful as some domestic V6's too though.

I've had the liberty to ride around in a v6 coupe, 4cyl coupe, and i have a 4cyl sedan. My car, before any mods, was too slow for my taste, which is a slightly "spirited" driver. Passing in highway situations almost got me killed, and the stock tires were pathetic. However, the 4cyl coupe handles and drives well, and the v6 coupe is an amazing car to drive. The car is great, stereo, A/C, handling (except for the poor stock Michelin MX4 Plus tires) room, feel, comfort etc etc. If you want the extra power, spend the extra dollar for the v6, if not 4cyl should suit you.

Back in 92, when I bought my first Accord, I didn't have a choice. I had to settle for a 4cyl. (there was no V6 in the 4th gens). This time I had the option, and I love having plenty of power for passing, and merging into traffic. But if you're not "power needy", the 4cyl. should do just fine.

I heard the 06 Civics were recalled because of bad brakes...but i haven't heard anything about accord...

But also it is, to early to tell. If you REALLY want one, i'd say wait a few months and find out any probs about them.

The 7th gen Accord has been around for three years now (since 03). What is another couple months going to find? In the first year (03) we were taking a chance, because it was the first year. They have probably corrected some potential problems since then. If they found anything that was fixable in the past three years.

My 03 has electronic throttle and 5 speed auto. So that's not new.

the 4cyl doesn't have electronic throttle for my 04. I feel like my auto is slower than I would like, so a manual would be cool, especially the 6spd (only for v6).

Which version of the 06 has the flatter back and is shorter (length) than our 03-05? Or is it for all of them?

I guess the front rotors are prone to warping on some of the V6 models for some reason.

those hp increses are most likely from

a. uderrating previous years

b slight modiification of engine management software

I'd place my bet with a

sorry I was referring to 7th gen in general in all of my comments on this thread.

the O6 cars did get a front and rear rework with LED tails but I still don't like the looks inside or out. Hopefully they (honda) will return to a slightly more conservative approach for 08.

A lot of the mags reported the the 03 sales dropped due to the looks..

The 1994 Accord was said to have looked too much like a Civic instead of an Accord. They were awesome cars, though, extremely reliable. We have a '94 Accord with close to 300,000 miles on it...still winning races and motor's never been worked on.

I have 7,000+ miles on a 2006 Accord 6-6 Coupe that I bought on December 21. No problems whatsoever.

It's surprisingly quick and fast, and handles very well w/the HFP suspension. The suspension makes the car look too low in the rear, but it's not. An LSD would be nice, but the TL 6-6 LSD will fit if you have the time and inclination to put it in.

The 245 HP rating is by the "new" SAE standards that Honda decided to use this MY even though a lot of people are not. It's widely supposed that this would be about 260 HP by last year's method.

I agree performance is great no doubt about it...it's just the looks......that sorta turn me off.

V6 is the DEFINATELY the way to go with the accord though

If I was going to buy a new accord I would definately save up the extra $$ for the V6..........

I had the 03 auto trans. I did get the recall took it in they put on the parts and said that it looked great, I had around 75K at the time. The next visit for the oil the trans fluid was burnt. So I had to have the trans flushed and filled. That only lasted 20K Burnt again. Honda would not even talk to me about it because of the milage. Well at 120k it was done. Honda did nothing. This was my 3rd accord and was very upset with honda.
So I really like the cars exceot for the auto trans. I purchased a 06 V6 MT. So far I love it.

I also had a 1999 V6 Auto it was in bad spade also when I sold it but it still was shifting at 168K.

If your 03 had more than 15,000 miles they were supposed to take it down and look at the inside of the trans. If it was under 15,000 miles they were to just add the cooling line. 75,000 miles is way too much mileage before adding the cooling line.

1994 to 1997 are also my favorite accords...i would definetly have gotten a used one if my dad wasnt so picky with used cars!

Does moonroof only come in the ex editions?

Yep. EX only. I suppose there could be some special edition that might have a moonroof, but I haven't heard of one. LX, no moonroof. And they can't put in a factory moonroof afterwards. You would have to get an aftermarket sunroof, if you wanted one on an LX.

yes, if there is any turn off with the 7th gen, its the looks.

The new 06 model (that has the flatter back end, idk if thats for all the models, because i've only seen 1 06 so far) has a much more aggressive look to it

I bought my 7th gen because it was a Honda. I had my 4th gen for 12 years. It didn't look like anything special either, but it was a Honda too. And that's what I was going to get, no matter what it looked like. Except maybe if it looked like an Aztec. Hahaha. I think they have to make the Accord look kind of plain, and ordinary, or who's going to pluck down the extra $$$$ for the Acura TL? I didn't think "Stylish" looks of the TL were worth the extra $5,000.

As far as the 06 is concerned, it looks like every carmaker out there is going with the Triangle looking tail lights, and Honda just jumped on that bandwaggon with everyone else.

The Alfa Romeo tails on the '03-'05 sedans, I definitely did not understand that.
