Alright well i haved found out that i dont want to get a vtec controller.
So basically the the only thing else i would like to know is what CHEAP upgrades can i do to add power? And if you can chip and ecu for me send me an email(soccermania1212@yahoo.com)

Thanks for ur help! I am new with this car so all the help i can get is great.

The problem is the Generic "JUN" chip..It makes stock motors run pig rich and it advances timing..I dont see how a vtec controller will help with the gas mileage..Get chip with stock fuel and timing maps and it will run better..But besides that you can do the basic-- new plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, check the tire pressure, put in some fuel injtector cleaner(s)..

your quick fix is to run stock ECU.

alright...i see what yall are saying, i jus dont want to lose the power
but a vtec controller wont help? cuz doesnt vtec eat gas? and mine kicks in at like 3500-4500, so i though bump it up and that would help save? what do yeah think??
Also if i were to take out the JUN chip, i would lose power(right??)
So what chip can i get to get the power back but still get the gas mileage?
I jus want something that will give me the power but still get 30 mpg.
Thanks
Ryan

more power = less MPG

put the stock ecu in ... drive the car ... be happy you get 30mpg ... loss a few hp ...big deal

VTEC controler wont help unless you are trying to get good gas milage while running at WOT as much as possible...
If you want good gas dont run around at WOT, go easy on the gas, coast alot, easy on the brakes, shift alot, keep the rpms down as much as u can... its not that hard, but if you want better gas milage loose the ECU, its not like if you wanna go fast u cant just put it back. make a decision power or fuel economy...

Actually you will gain power going back to stock ecu,,Because when honda motors run rich they dont make there best power..Its not like V8's or rotarys where you dump a shitload of fuel in and it makes more power..Ive seen that the honda motors make more power running lean..But yeah that "JUN" chip is hurting you..But if you want both good mpg and the best power have a custum chip burnt for you from a tuner using a dyno or street tune..

Man that helps out alot. I appreciate all the help cuz i am fairly new with the Hondas and i want to learn as much as i can, cuz i love these little bastards they are my life. So maybe another thing someone could tell me where i can go to read up about them(how to upgrade, what to use to upgrade, so on and so forth) so i can build a lean mean v8 eating machine.
Thanks again.
Ryan.
PS> How easy is it to put the stock chip back in? Oh yeah and the guy that i bought the car from said that by putting the JUN chip in there he lost a quarter of a sec. of the 1/4 mile.
PS>> How much would it cost to have a custom chip made yeah think??(i believe my ecu is the p03)

i wouldnt plan on you beating v8's anytime soon man, and i burn chips for 20 dollars so you should be able to find someone around that price...they might even be able to re-burn your "jun" chip

NO vtec controller!!! switch back to a stock program and when your ready to chip your car convert to obd1 and run hondata or you could use chrome or uberdata now though it wouldn't really be needed yet unless your planning an aggressive all motor or turbo set up in the future.
