They are comparing apples and oranges (as far as the U.S. is concerned)....all uk and japan sti's are only 2.0 liter not the 2.5 we get here...big difference in power delivery especially low end.....so in defense from driving both cars stock for stock the u.s spec sti is far better in every aspect then the u.s spec evo.....now in the evos defense it is not as equipped in stock trim 2.0 liter, 5 speed ( weak transmission ) no variable center diff.......now on the other hand I recently had a chance to drive the evo mr and that car blew my mind...a definately better rival for the sti......it actually felt better all around than the sti especially the honda like shifting 6 speed transmission( which is unheard of on dsm vehicles) the suspension is very well matched to the variable center diff........just my opinion...not fact
