Help please VTEC doesn't work
I did search on the forum and couldn't find any answer. I have a 97 H22A on a 97 Civic hatch CX. My vtec doesn't work, what could be the problem or solution? I have a check engine but I want to work on the VTEC to kick in first. When it reach 4000 RPM it starts to bug like hitting the rev limiter. I'm using a 96 integra GSR ecu. Help please.
I think you should be using the h22 computer as well. The fuel maps in the gsr are not enough for the big block. I could be wrong. Talk to this guy Kenji in this forum, I think he might be in the tech forum as well. He can tell you.
use the h22 ecu
the GSR ecu turns vtec on @ 4400~ and the butterflies open at 5700~
Also check your codes! it could be throwing a code that would cause limp mode.

i have the same setup 98 civic w/ h22 and i'm using gsr obd1 ecu and ofcrs you have to get a jumper for this kind of setup.the car runs grea... next week i'm going to upgrade my ecu to handata setup.

seems like your in a safe mode
your vtec wont engage due to that mode it is in, clear the CEL first

The car is running and driveable but the vtec doesn't kick in, it bogs. I reset the CEL couple times and keeps on throwing the same code. All the harness are snug. Is there a way that I can by-pass or hot wire the vtec sylonoid to start working again? I brought the car to a performance shop I trust and they found out that I need a OBD1 ecu. But I want your expertise. This webpage helps me installed my H22A with the people on this board guidance.
Hey this sounds ghetto but works on my B16, I ran the vtec solenoid to a switch
because the vss wouldn't let the vtec come on,
If you do this you will get a code 21
the switch must be a always off push button and you must find out when the oil squirters come on or else you will mess up the cams, turn it on when the h22 ecu
would turn it on never before that.
