my car usualy will not let you down shift into 2nd gear the only way u can down shift into 2nd is if u push it up towaeds frist and them come down.. it will noit go into 2nd comeing form any other direction? dose this mean smoethings wrong with my shift linkage.. also it dosnt not grid or anything.. it feels like a lock.. (like form 5th to reverse) any body know what could be up?

 

That's kind of strange. Have you tried using the engine to coax it into 2nd from neutral? As in, are you sure it's not RPM or speed related? Because that sounds like a problem a lot of people have with 1st gear. My suggestion is change the tranny fluid right now (with Honda MTF) and see if things improve over the next few trips.
