91 manual windows...
Pop the door panel and check to see if the window is off the track, that's been known to make windows not roll all the way down. You may need to re-grease the tracks to make it roll down easier. If you need to know how to pop the door panel, you can get a Haynes repair manual at your local auto parts store for about $15. You will need to pull the window crank (handle) off, pop the little screw guards off the doors (one is on the lower left [if you're doing the drivers side door] of the door panel, and the other is in the handle itself. There is also a screw in the handle that actually opens the door, in order to get the door panel off you will need to unscrew that screw and then remove that actual handle assembly. Good luck!
As long as you have the basic tools, phillips and flat head screw drivers, you'll be fine. As far as the grease goes, I would probably recommend bearing grease for the tracks. It lasts for a long time and you should be able to pick up a little tub of it from your local auto parts store for cheap.
it would also be a good idea to lune your window guides and any other parts that come in contact with each other during the window operation while you got that door panel off
