smoke from header

Default smoke from header

i was driving today and i was beating the engine, redlining 1st-3rd gear, so the engine was hot. i got home and when i got out of the car I smelled something. so i popped the hood and there was smoke coming from my header right under the O2 sensor. i have a d15b2..am i just burning oil? is this serious at all? thanks guys

Probably not serious. I would guess that some old mud or oil is burning off the manifold since it hasn't been that hot in a while.

I'm a firm believer that an engine needs to stretch it's legs once in a while. Like a person....working out is healthy.

did you recently add any fluids (ie. oil) ?
could be spill off burning, well dont worry too much as long as its not coming from head gasket or some wierder

I agree, maybe if you just checked the oil some dripped on to the header before you went for the "excersise" and is just burning off. No biggie

the car isnt beat on very often at all, its babied most of the time. you guys are probably right, it usually isnt redlined very often and is just buring off something extra. its not legally driveable, so sits for a few days inbetween maintenance and installation of new parts. its more of a project than an everyday right now. thanks for the help.
