ok i rode in my friends 350Z and had 35% all around...windshield included... and i fell in love with it and highly thinking about doing it to my S.....

wondering how many of you guys had this done and what ar your experiances with it.....

 

I have 35% all around except windshield. I would gladly get it again. As per windshield tint, its only a matter of time until you get pulled over and a cop makes you take off the tint right there. Yes they do make you do remove it at that very moment and then give you a nice fine afterwards. I have pics floating around somewhere, i can post them if you wish

 

50% on windshield looks good, anything darker and i agree, the cop is gonna notice.

 

actually any % on a windshield and a cop will notice. it really depends on how strict cops are in your area. i know they pull over civics and others cars for tint all the time. its illegal in PA to have tint on passenger/driver and windshield. the rear windows and any rear passenger windows are ok for tint. the exceptions are limo and if it came from factory like that

 

I just got the S tinted yesterday.. windows are 20 percent.. nice and dark and I got a front tint bar about 3 inches big that is limo.

Makes the car alot sleeker and much more private inside. I hate cars that are not tinted.

You're a ricer skinnyguy, I don't like tint because it looks ricey to me

 

my windows are 20% tint, and i dont have enough ***** to tint the front windshield.

 

You look ricey Athiest..

You have no sense of style with cars, tint makes any car look cleaner.

it's not only illegal to tint front windshield but there is more to it
you'll get $500~1000 ticket and police has right to impound your car.
and i believe you can't get it back

So is this just if you tint your front windshield?

i didnt know this either. my car came tinted all around from the dealership. i think its 35% and has a winshield strip about 3".

the front winshield tinting is illega\l?

 

windshield strips are ok as long as they are smaller than X inches. what the above guys are talking about is tinting the entire windshield which is very illegal

Look at your windshield from outside the car, along one of the sides (I think driver's side), near where the factory blue tint ends. You should see something like "AS1" in white letters, with an arrow/line. That arrow or line marks the lowest you can tint the front. This applies to all cars (and ALL states), but the height of the AS1 line varies with different makes and models.

 

so not even 50-70 % up front cant fly???

 

You can put a solid color banner across the front if you wanted to... Just not anywhere below the AS1 line. Tint of any kind below that line is not allowed.

Oh, and to correct my previous statement, the "AS1" markings should be on both sides, and in black.

 

I have 15% on the side windows and back window with the windshield still clear. A friend of mine had his windshield done 20% and it was crazy dark at night time and he got hassled by the cops I think. I wouldn't ever tint the front windshield because of night visibility and the cops,but if I guess you really want to do it max I would do would be 35%.

 

yea i was thinking of a 60-70ish % on it if amnything... the night vision on my friends 35% wasnt bad at all.... i thought it would have been a lot darker..

 

if you live in the burbs where there are no lights, you can't see well even in 35%. i have them on my sides and can barely see anything on the sides late at night

 

What about ap1 rear window? Has anyone had that tinted? I would imagine it would not last long with putting the top down, and having the window fold?

Plastic.. I am sure it is possible, but my question is if will hold up for a long period of time. The fold in the plastic seems like it would tear it up?

it holds up but not that great if you put your top up and down often, especially in colder weather. a few have taken it off due to this. this is why you rarely see any 00-01's with rear plastic tinted

 

just 20 on my side windows nothing on the back or front and i love it . i have 35s on my rears windows and 50 on the doors and never for hassled by the cops

 

ok so the lower the # the darker or is it the opposite?
