I don’t know a lot about cars but am interested in learning about them.

Today when driving my car the following problem occurred:

The drive four light begun to flash and then the Speedo and the trip computer stopped working but then sometimes again started working. As I was on the highway I couldn’t pull over but as a kept on driving the engines emission and engine control light came on. The car drives like normal most of the time but then sometimes it feels like the car is going back and forward as if it is having problems using the fuel.

It’s a Honda Accord 1994 VTI auto.

Does anybody know what might be causing this and how much it would cost to fix (AUS or US dollars)?

 

You need to go to Autozone (or some other parts store) and get the codes pulled from the computers (engine CEL and trans D4 light)(most don't charge for this). Then come back with the results. Does the lights flash, or stay on steady?

 

The drive lights flash and the yellow engine emission light stays on until I turn the car of.

I did read up on the manual for my car about getting the codes pulled from the computer but wanted to get an idea from people of what are some of the common problems when this happens. It would just make me sleep easier having an idea of what some of the problems it could be and also as I don't know much about cars I didn't want the mechanics telling me the wrong thing.

 

get us the codes from the CEL and my guess is it's gonna be your VSS based upon your trip computer going out.......
