Title says it all.

I am putting a crx si motor in a 4-dr EF, just because. I only have a pr4 ecu though

i thought that ecu's 'learn' to put in more/less fuel, isnt that why there is a o2 sensor? if not you could always chip the ecu, tune using o2 sensor on a dyno. alittle more trouble than its worth if your trying to stay stock, but if your doing it for power than you knock out 2 birds w/ 1 stone sorta. if you want to chip that pr4, check out pgmfi.org or if you are wanting a pm6 i've got one left over from a b16a swap, pm me with an offer if you want it.

yes it will work, but you should get it chipped for a pm6 map.

and the ecu doesnt "Learn" anything. not even obd2 ecu's use any sort of algorithm for adjusting its own fuel map to learn a new setup. the o2 sensor adjusts the amount of fuel injected using an algorithm that does small fine tune adjustments to the injector duration. these fine tuned adjustments are good for an injector duration adjustment of +-.2 msec, which is not enough of an adjustment to make a b18 ecu work perfectly with a d16. another thing is that in obd0 setups, the o2 sensor doesnt even work until it is hot, and even then the fuel trim algorithm is only used in closed loop mode. which means that in most cases it wont be adjusting fuel trim except at WOT or near WOT.

there are ways to have your ecu tune itself or "Learn", but those require a real-time-programming setup, which your ecu can be chipped to handle. if want to learn more about how to get your ecu to "Learn", go to http://www.pgmfi.org and look under the real time programming section.
