knock sensor. Can it be Fixed?
So..i got a knock sensor from ebay, and got screwed on it. It was broken. IS there anyway to fix it? It seems that it needs the two wires to be soldered some where. I have my head off the block right now because of this knock sensor issue. Is there anyway that i can procede with putting my engine back together and have it running right? Im pretty F%$ked without a knock sensor hu??? Let me know what i can do guys thanks..!
1st mistake=buying any sensor off fleabay. I could sell my faulty one(looks perfectly new, caused my boggin) as a good one but fu ck that i am not a scammer. Put ut the cash for a new one dude. Make sure you have continuity from the knock sensor engine harness connector to the correct ecu pin. THat would rule out a wiring problem. Make sure threads are clean.
The sensor can be installed from the bottom(when your head is back on), you have to remove the oil filter and then you can get to it.

I was sort of worried about that? That being not being able to put the sensor on without the head coming off. what tool would u recommend using to take it off, i know that the waterpipe is sort of in the way. What were you talking about when you were talking about the ecu and stuff?? How much are new knock sensors anyways? Thanks
A new ks is over $100, it's a 26mm socket iirc. Its right above the water pipe. I had to replace mine(boggin issue), did it from the bottom. Get a regular socket and not a deep well.
Continuity check is just to make sure the wiring is okay(no opens) from the ks all the way to the ecu since its just 1 wire.
