leaky cam seal need quick fix
how do i stop it from leaking? only my exhaust cam seal is didnt see any oil coming from the intake one. i felt dumb the other day when i poped my hood for someone cuz they didnt believe me that i had a b16 and he was like nice but when u touched my engine code i had oil on my finger and followed it up to the exhaust cam seal.
ok thanks.. just took a look at it agian and it seems to be a little more involved than just pulling the valve cover off and swapping outthe seals..
Your going to have to pull the t-belt off then, pull the cam and then the cam gear, replace seal, and do it all again in reverse order. Make sure that you get your cam timing on when putting it back togeathor or else your car wont run, or if it does, it'll run really, really bad and you could bend the valves if you somehwo manage to get it rotated 180 degrees lol.
It sucks, but I hate it when my car leaks oil. Good Luck.

RVT or Hondabond wont fix it. (My buddy tried on his car haha) You have to pull it apart and replace the seal.
EDIT: Wait, if its on the tranny side of the motor, you can pull the valvecover off and use Hondabond RVT, but if its on the cam gear side, you gotta do what I explained earlier....

it sounds like he is talking about the one on the tranny side since he said that the oil was leaking down onto his engine code. super easy to replace, put engine to TDC, pull the valve cover, then pull all the bolts holding the cam caps down, and carefully pull off the cam cap furthest to the left. swap out the old seal for a new one and reverse what you took apart. just might want to check with honda to make sure they have them in stock before you tear it all apart.
also, i think honda refers to it as a cam plug. just make sure you describe exactly what you need and they know that it is not on the cam gear side.

finding tdc is not necessary, everything else sounds good.

not necessary, but good practice. also seems to put less stress on the cam caps and bolts when removing and installing.

ebay. Get a metal one. Don't buy a honda oem one, they are plastic junk. You'll never have a problem again if you get a metal one. And it doesn't have to be an expensive one either with some brand name stenciled in it b/c they are all the same product except some pay for the name on it. I got mine from KMS on ebay. Cheapest I could find.
And the install is super easy.
