Default Hood Pops open...smashes windhield....roof is damaged.....pictures!!!

So it was around 9:30 pm last night driving down to San Diego from Temecula

in the middle of nowhere...Phucking Dark, my hood pops open and smashes into my windshield and also damages the roof (just noticed that today)

im stranded like 40-50 miles away from home and i don't know what to do
i call my GF's brother (had to drive 30 minutes...A True Homie)
came with a rope to tie down the hood
Hood latch disconnected, hood is splitting in half, hood about to fall apart

i had to drive home 50 mph 40 minute drive or so

got home at 11:45pm

EDIT: radiator support had some lilttle damage so hood didnt close all the way....next time fix it earlier!!! my mistake

here are the pictures

The Windshield

We had to tie down the hood with rope my GF's bro gave me ( A true Homie )

The tape was used to keep the two splitted sides of the hood together ( it worked )

The rood got damaged

The money i was saving up for a Swap...now i have to fix this!!!

expletive YOU!!!!

this happened to my grandma on the interstate in north carolina
first a tour bus rear ended her car. my uncle thought a piece of duct tape would keep the hood down since it was stuck shut (I wasn't there to witness any of it)
On her drive home on twisty NC highways, the hood flew up on her w/3 kids in the car including her old 70's something self.
Apparently she couldn't get off of the road all the way and after they were out of the car a lady clipped her rear 1/4 on top of that.

To top it off it began to rain and sure enough she slipped and fell into a puddle when trying to climb into the tow truck.

The same thing happened to a project EG when my brother had it, we called out insurance company and were upfront with them about what happened, we didnt pay a deductable and it was taken care of. Might be able to call the police and say a truck was infront of you and a big rock or something flew out of the back and hit the windshield and you were scared to you pulled over and didnt get the plate and they will cover it, thats how it works in KY, I have known some ppl to do it I know it is shady but I know it works.
