Default DCRH, CAI, DC Catback installed 06 SI

It's done! Finally after a couple months of impatience, the starting mods are installed!! The CAI is kinda a pain, but nothing anyone couldn't figure out. The catback install a blind monkey could do. The DC Race Header will not be for the faint heart. I tried to get pictures while installing, but there isn't room. All I will say is the instructions are somewhat poor. DC also didn't provide hardly any pictures, but I COMPLETELY understand. For the race header, be prepared to pull off the outer plastic cowl by the wipers. Not as hard as I felt, but the instructions said nothing I could find on how to remove this piece. There is 3 tiny clips (that are mentioned) to remove, then some pulling from the center of the cowl upward. It uses clips like a door panel. Then at the ends, the cowl is fit together with the end pieces kinda like a puzzle.... Not rocket science, but when you go into it blind it is scary just pullin on it (someone has to do it). When you install the race header, make sure to have a few bowls/cups/whatever to keep all the clips/nutz/bolts organized.

The defouler O2 sensor trick worked (At least for 20-30 miles thus far and a few highway WOT pulls)

Here is some pics for everyone.

The calm before the storm.

CAI installed (this shot from driver fender)

Getting to the top bolts on stock header.

The hanger gauge on the race header is too small compared to the stock hanger gauge..doesn't hold very well in the rubber mount :-/

Don't know if there is a point in buying a DC shorty header...We have a header stock!

Here is the pic for spoonlongblock...

I have no idea how to post soundclips. It is pretty quiet at idle, and even under 3k. Into 4k+ and Vtec....DAMN!!! Power gains are obvious from idle to redline, however above 4k it is extremely noticable. I am very interested in doing some roll ons in the future.

Thanks for the pics.
Looks great and I'm glad it seems to make a difference!

I guess the "defouler" keeps the ECU from getting upset, till K-pro or something is available.
Hopefully I'll have nearly those same bits on the car in another few weeks or so.
Almost got some baseline dynos on a Dynojet yesterday at Inline Pro after picking up that stuff.

So when installing the headers with the dc cat back will the sensor kick the check engine light on? If so how do you get rid of it?

No. When you install the DC sports race header (cat delete), you will recieve a CEL unless you install something to trick the rear 02 to simulate that there is a cat present.

In previous honda/acuras you can either clear the code by using a code scanner, or unhooking the negative battery terminal for a few minutes. I would assume the 06 civic would be the same.

Nice thanks for taking the time out to post everything. Let us know if the CEL stays off.

How hard was it to get the wiper cowl off. Looks to be a pain.

CEL is still off...

The cowl sucks.... But in my first post I gave some pointers... follow the instructions the best you can, but remember to pull up in the middle first....it uses clips like a door panel, once you have those out it is golden....
