Default Dyno'd my prelude :)

here's my current setup or whats important

148k miles on stock h22a4
stock intake manifold
stock throttle body
stock cams
stock cam gears
stock ignition + ngk wires + .27 gapped brk7es plugs
stock pistons, rings and rods
stock crank and bearings
onefab series 1 manifold
precision sc-61 .60 cold side .63 hot side running .7 bar
3" uncatted straight exhaust to apexi n1
rc 750cc injectors, ge fuel rail, braided lines, and a walbro intake fuel pump
aem ems basic street tuned, 11.5-11.8 afr but timing is pulled out quite a bit

dyno is a bit rocky because I was misfiring on the rollers, not sure why. probably because I have'nt changed my plugs in like 3k miles and they were gapped at .27. Maybe replacing with new ones and gapping at .22 would help. Also vtec engagement is set a bit late and that dip in the graph could be milled out just by setting vtec from 5200rpms to 4100rpms. I was on .7 bar or 10psi on a dynojet

<U>oh yeah I forgot to add I've been running this setup now for 12 months with no problems. Compression is still great 190 accross the board, I've put 10k miles on this setup and still not burning anymore oil than I did when I was n/a .</U>

328.2whp.

When you said stock, I thought you meant you hadn't even lowered compression. I was scared for a second.

What transmission do you have that you're topping out at 80mph in any gear, or did you just let off early in 3rd?

I don't have lowered compression..... why would you be scared ? And on the dyno I just did a 3rd gear pull from 0 rpms to red line (7500 rpms). I think 3rd gear gets me to roughly 85mph

Yep.

I can't imagine his pistons lasting too long with that turbo at 10psi either.

he said its been running like that for a year now.

and i think he meant that the turbo was too big because the curve was peaky. a smaller turbo would result in a flatter curve.

i dont necessarily agree with that. there are a lot of people that would prefer to have a huge jump in power at the top of their rpm range.

Nonetheless, it's a large turbo pushing a lot of air. A good tune will only go so far + this is only a street tune.

Illiterate and uninformed( been running for 10k miles compression test reveals same numbers the day b4 it was boosted)
Motor has been ran at 18.56 psi before and 14psi at multiple pulls

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mgags7 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">wheres the tq curve?
</TD></TR></TABLE>
I was misfiring so the dyno is rocky. When you misfire the torque curve does'nt come out for some reason. The torque curve was super splotchy and inaccurate so they did'nt even print it.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mgags7 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">as the graph shows that turbo is too big for your setup</TD></TR></TABLE>
3 things
#1 have you ever ridden in a car that has a steep torque curve? If you have'nt I can understand your position, it's not like I'm running a full t04 or a t-67 compressor

#2 Fwd + instant spool = slow. You should try it some time, Power that comes on to early at low speed keeps traction to a minimum. The car never drops below 5,200rpms in between shifts so I never drop below 260whp even at the bottom of a shift. That's what a bov is for, keeps turbine speed high in between shifts.

#3 this kit was sized for scalability, you think people would get that from the 750cc injectors, aem ems, giant pwr fmic, eq mani, and 3" dp and of course a sizable sc-61, but I guess not. I slapped it on this motor to prove to people that the only thing that destroys h22 ringlands is detonation.

here's a few pics

I have. And for drag racers/dyno queens, you've got a decent setup. For driveability, and for those who race on tracks that involve turning and braking (and driving ability), that setup will get you lapped by me and my bone stock 4th gen.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by c61lude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">That's what a bov is for, keeps turbine speed high in between shifts. </TD></TR></TABLE>

no, that's what anti-lag is for. the BOV dumps the extra charged air from the intake system so that way when you let the clutch out and get back on the gas, you don't end up with too much boost and scatter your "stock" engine.

go ahead and try to call me illiterate and uninformed...I'll show you my bumper every time.

I still maintain what I said. I can't argue that your doesn't look fantastic though. What exactly do you have done? Projector hid, oem underbody kit (?) , eyelids, what fog lights are those? What turn signals?

not really bro, even if I could'nt get traction even if I was "lagging" which I don't I have more power at 4k rpms than you do at red line lol

Sober you should'nt have said anything at all, lol. Your an even bigger retard than I previously invisioned. Do you know what a throttle plate is? Thank god for my bov I'd have a blown motor if I did'nt have one hahaha

I have alot done, but that's besides the point. you said it will only go so far, it's been up for 10k miles and I've probably done 300 pulls on it. How far do you want it to go..................

actually you're both wrong....... a BOV has nothing to do with wether or not you ""blow"" your motor, it only prevents compressor surge, which in some peoples opinions (not my own) shortens the life of your turbo, i spend a great deal of time at a turbo exchange, the owner of which has been turboing just about everything for the last 40years.. he has YET TO RUN A BOV, on anything-- of his own(some of his customers insist on running BOV's) and has yet to have any reason to blame a hurt turbo on not having a BOV, in fact, he gets pretty angry when anyone even mentions them.... furthermore, the BOV releases the air pressure inside the charge pipe when the throttle plate is closed thus making it necessary to re-spool the turbo when shifting gears, you can however elminate this, by elminating the BOV, and flat shifting, if ure feeling really saucy....but thats not the debate here, and certainly not the point of this posting....

BTW: nice looking car.... come see me when you get a built motor.....
