I wouldnt get neither of them, but if i had to I still wouldnt. You can try this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...98347

Get that and a double 12" sealed enclosure they have there. Wiring is extra buddy. I recommend like the 8 gauge wire pack they have from Rockford. Also pick up a 1/2 farad cap while your at it.

The price will probably end up near the same price as the others, but will sound better. Now im sure everyone else will say they sound like junk (me included) but for the price they are definately better than the Duals.

I've heard the Inisig. package and it hits harder than any of the Duals. The cap helps with the bass if you didnt know.

If you want to see one connected to a wall outlet, check this site: http://realmofexcursion.com/videos.html
scroll down to Insignia.

thats impresive wonder if it likes that 120v

iwas going to go 4 gauge wire 6 minum (unless thats WAY overkill.) and 18 gauge remote. are these good starting points.

also i've heard to route the audiolines away from the power lines. why is this?

one more Q. i want somthing that will vibrate the car but not be heard a block away is 360W enough for that?

i;ve also heard that 12's are "punchier" that 10's. is this true?

i know this is alot of Q's but again i'm a noob and wana get my money's worth.

4 gauge wire would defintely be overkill. Like I said, the 8 gauge pack they have would be fine.

The reason why you want to run the audiolines away from the power lines is so there is no distortion and interfearence.

Like i said, i have heard this system in a car a couple times. It was a neon and it sounded alright. Definitely enough bass for inside the car and you can probably hear it from a half a block

12's are "punchier" generally because they are moving more air and can hit the lower frequencies. But as anyone here can tell you, there are 10's out there that can blow away these set of 12's, and the box has a lot to do with it. The box they have at best buy will be good. Its just a simple sealed set for 2 12's.

Q's are good, its the only way you find out. Posting Q's here should land you a bunch of opinions and this one is mine. For a starter system i think you will get your moneys worth.

Um, I believe they have those two Q-logic style boxes there. One is capable of being sealed or vented. One is the cheaper and is just sealed. It actually is seperated so each sub is sealed. With the power of that system, and from the fact that you said you wanted a system that will rumble the car, but not be heard a block away, id recommed getting a sealed. They are both going to sound pretty much the same when sealed. The more expensive one just looks better.

The sealed offers more thump with less power. A ported system would be louder, but a little weaker cuz ported needs more power. IF you want you can go for the more expensive one and try it out as a sealed or as a vented, but if it were me, id just get the cheaper sealed one.

Also, im just curious, Did you ask these questions at best buy? What did they say?

the guy at bustbuy is a real pumpas *** typical salesman. if it's not over $500 dont get it- type of thing. one guy i talked to at anotherbest buy said "who would ever want a 300W weak shity system."

heres the box i was thinking of: plain and simple. or should i make my own box?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...59557

EDIT i just found this one too:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm...il.do

also should i get a cap? and how big. i'd like one farad but again is that overkill? i dont even know if my car can handle this system

Well thats sad to hear since I work at best buy as well. Some people just dont get it. I could say the same thing as them, but would I be helping you? No. You want a good bang for a little buck, and thats what im doin.

That one link to best buy is the one i was talking about. I would get that one. THe MTX box is not slanted in the back. I dont know your car, but the slanted ends fit better against the back seats, plus square boxes arent the best enclosures. If you want to make your own box, by all means go ahead, it'll just take a little longer for basically the same thing. Unless you have special size limitations. Otherwise the Q-logic one is good.

I believe i said early go ahead and get the 1/2 farad cap. You're not going to be pulling that much power. But one thing to think about is if later on you want to upgrade your system, you wouldnt have to buy another cap if you get the 1 farad now. Your choice.

Once again, i dont know your car so odds are it will handle it. Just make sure the car is runnin if its on full blast.

Dont forget to use your Best Buy card and join Reward Zone! <haha, i had to say it!

14 gauge will be fine.

Reward Zone is a membership card that you swipe with every purchase and get points towards money back in forms of gift cards. With the purchase that you just did you would have gotten like 5 bucks in gift cards. It really adds up if you shop there a lot. It only cost 10 bucks to get it.

You can still keep the 30mpg if you are just slower on the throttle

Boo best buy.

Always run as big of a gauge of wire as you can fit, both wallet-wide and space-wise

Best buy is great for price, that's it. If you want to make an informed decision, go somewhere else.

Oh and if anyone feels like insulting me, at least do so intelligently. The word is "pompous" not "pumpas".

Wow, who is insulting you? It was a joke, notice the laugh? I totally agree with you since any car audio shop is going to know a ton of more information than any retail store. Lighten up buddy.

Oh, the pompous deal, it was a quote, I never typed it.
