I weight them both 92 si rim with tire each 40lbs, accord steel rim 14'' 30-32 lbs. my friend with 95 gsr he has 4 steel civic rim 14'' ran 14.9 1/4 some one just post he said 1lbs on the tire=50lbs car weight

It really wouldn't hurt to try. I'm not sure if it would take any more than a few milliseconds off your 1/4 mile time with those weight differences. You would definetely notice a huge difference if you went to an ultra-lightweight wheel from those stockers.

ultralight wheels or not. tires also factor into weight.

going from 40lbs. to say 32-30lbs. is a huge, huge difference. you could possibly see a couple of tenths if you can take full advantage of it.

that's why i switched to 94-96 prelude wheels on my 93 vtec.

If the new wheel/tire combo is shorter than the old one, it will also help your 1/4 mile times by effectively lowering your final drive ratio.

taking one pound of rotating mass is equal to taking 8 pounds of non-rotating mass.

What size tire was on the accord wheel? Also, I doubt the 14" wheel will fit over your 11.1" brakes
