Default civic cluster back light not working!!!

hey i have a 93 civic dx, and the light in the cluster isnt working( the ones that light up at night), is there like a fuse that has needs to be changed? any ideas, there is this fuse which is for instrument lightning, but that same fuse feeds throght to the tail lights too, but tail lights are working. and i checked the cluster with a Ohm meter and it seems like the conction green board on the back seems to be okay.
so im not sure. maybe its from the wires?
no idea
anyone?

does your dash lighting work when you switch on the lights?
if your dimmer dies the cluster will not light up.

the dash lighting doesnt work either. the last owner of the car, pulled a 12V wire and connected these blue bulbs to the cluster and the climate control.

I had the same problem. It is really common for the dimmer switch to be intermittent or not work at all. I took mine apart and tried to figure out how to fix it but just gave up and bought another one.

to check to see if your dimmer is bad.
pull out the dimmer switch
note the three wires in the back of it. (red, black and red/black) - (red/black means red with a black stripe)
take a jumper wire and splice the red wire and the black wire together. leave the red/black wire alone.
after that turn on the lights, your cluster and dash should light up at full brightness.

dimmer switches can found at a local junk yard, ebay or the marketplace on here.

i pulled out the dimmer switch and found out that this is the problem, the other owner of the car had the wires goin to the dimmer cut and used another wire to it which was pulled into the cluster and to these bulbs that where costum fitted into the cluster it self.

i tried ur thing and didnt work exactly but anyways i found a 12V elctrisity runing throw this wire back there and took that 12V and used it to connect it to the wire on the plug which was seppost to feed the circuit to light up the background.

one thing is that i cant find out wat happend to the blinkers on the in the cluster, they dont work anymore after i pulled this project, any ideas for that now, i checked the fuses in the fuse box, didnt find it, where is that machinesim that makes that tick tick sound?
