Default HELP 5th gen lude rear rebar measurements

Does anyone know the measurement between the two mounting brackets on a 5th gen prelude rear rebar? Or know if the 5th gen rear rebar will fit on a 4th gen?

No, there's a reinformant bar at the back of the car. Its the same thing as the front of the car. It's there to hold your rear bumper up in place. Here's a pic to show you what I mean. Notice the huge black bar going across

Isn't that also known as the rear bumper support?

In that case, I don't see how they would be the same. They're completely different body styles...

i always thought it was called a rear bumper support, but i guess there could be other names for it too. can you take that thing off and still have the outter bumper? can it still attach to the car somehow? that sounds interesting...

Then when someone runs up the back of you your car will not take the impact how it was designed to...

umm leave it on...unless you are making a drag car and need the weight reduction. my brother took his off and he parked to close and i backed into his car at 5 mph with his fiberglass front bumper i hit that split that in 2 and there was no bumper reinforcement so the impact went right to the radiator support and hood. curled the hood up and slightly bent the radiator support. if you were to get rear ended at 45 without it im sorry but dudes front end will be in your trunk.

The bumpers are only for low speed impacks(5-10 MPH) Anything hits you going 45 Mph, your bumper is not going to matter....

yes, the bumper support will absorb impact and also distribute the impact over a bigger area. not having one is suicide on a street car. I wouldnt even consider it.

Yes the two body styes are very different but the 4th and 5th gen are roughly the same wheel base and what not.
To get back to the question at hand the Prelude is a street ride and the current REAR rebar/ bumper support or rear bumper reinforcement is toast! Meaning the car would not pass the state inspection.
I did some research online and could not find a 4th gen for less than $260. But a 5th gen is going for about $150. Wanting to save $110 I was wondering if anyone out there had their rear bumper cover off and could take some measurements for me. Thanks for the help!

Part numders really don't mean a thing. It could be that there are one or two of the brackets to support the oem bumper are in different locations, or it could be that the 4th gen rear rebar was boxed in and the 5th gen is not.

Would it be possible for you to also post the measurement between the two mounting brackets which attach the rebar to the frame? Thanks for your help!
