Default Leaked here first (SPEC TIRE STUFF)

Scheduled to be announced April 1, 2006, but leaked here first because your comments are respected.

Dateline April 1, 2006

Effective April 1, 2006, The Goodyear Turfmaster will be the REQUIRED spec tire for the following vehicles. Goodyear has promised that sizes to fit all vehicles will be available in sufficient quantities by the required date. Decals will be REQUIRED for all subject vehicles. Sponsorships will be available. Unique payout program.

All golf carts used in paddock operation.
All ATV vehicles used to transport equipment to and from pits.
All race trailers used to transport race cars to and from the track. (Open trailers are exempt from this rule because you aren't allowed to park the in the paddock at some tracks.)

Your comments are solicited.......

Sorry I can only use Continental, guess I'll be walking everywhere in the paddock then. And I'll be driving my pimpy race car to the track, if I get pulled over then I am sending you the ticket.

Haha ... Grumpy brought jokes.

Is there a contingency program in place for trailers that get the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best parking spots in the paddock? How many trailers minimum are needed?

This is the kind of input we need for a successful program.

If this program is a success we will be thinking of spec tires for HPDE vehicles as well.

What if there aren't enough Haulmark trailers, do the guys with Haulmarks have to go buy Pace Americans?

A spec race trailer program may be installed as early as 2007.

What about spec tires on bikes in the paddock? I am going to start bringing my mtn bike to the track. Toyo doesnt make the correct size for it.

Or spend double the cost of the bike on new wheels in a size tires are available in, which are all wrong for his class.

Also, don't forget he'll need to re-sprocket his bike for better gearing.
Cha-ching..
Wasn't the Turfmaster decision supposed to save us money?

You're not recognizably closely associated with Hanes, are you?

This from the small print at http://turfmasterracing.goodyeah.com/megabucks

According to Goodyear spokesperson Luscious Green-Grass, "Based on the number of pit vehicles in the United States, the contingency payout could be as high as $4.7 billion. Numbers that big make me wet. Really, really wet."

Actually, he can keep using his current bike tires. However, he will not be awarded championship points and will not qualify for the nationals paddock.
