My tach on the itr cluster
I got an itr cluster on my civic because I didnt want to buy a monster tach. But after I istalled it It is quite inaccurate. Should I wire it directly to the coil or do I have to get a different tach to be more accurate?

I have heard from quite a few reputable people that OEM tachs are off by the amount you mentioned, my OEM tach was off like that until 4k then it matched my Autometer perfectly all the way til redline. MY VAFC on my recent EG civic told me the same thing as well. It just seems that OEM is off by 2-300 at lower RPMS? My Autometer is wired right to the signal wire on the dizzy so I know it's right.

How good of a connection is it, you might want to check that, and It could just be that the OEM tach is inacturate. I agree with everyone else, it maybe a oem deal. But I my oem tach matched my VAFC and Autometer tach, so I'm not sure.
I never had a tach. I thought that if I bought this 150 dollar cluster and spend the time to install it then I would have a good tach but it seems that it inaccurate so I dont know what to do
