Default Tein super street coilover spring rate question.

I am considering buying these for a 94 integra ls. can you have the springs made with the rates you specify? I like a particularly stiff ride. Also, id the pillowball mount upgrade worth the extra money?

Yes you can have the spring rates tailored to you liking. As for the P/B upper mounts, I would avoid them. Try about a 10-12k front spring, and a 12-14k rear spring. I have Tein RS coil-overs re-valved, and re-sprung to 10k front, and 12k rear. I love them. Contact Tein USA at http://www.tein.com

The TEIN SUPER STREET have a 8K/6K spring rate for all 94-01 integas no typeR). The spring rates can only go up 2K or down 2K front and rear. Anything higher you must revalve. 8K front and 6K rear is considered moderate spring rates. If you want a stiffer ride then I would consider looking into buddy club full coilovers which has a 12k front and a 10K rear. I hope this is not going to be a daily driven car because the higher the rates the more rough your ride will be.

I recently traded in my tein basic damper which has the same rates as the super streets. I have to say that teins make awesome coilovers. It was very aggressive but i didnt like the roughness. I got a set of TANABE SUSTEC PRO SS which has a rate of 6K/4K. The ride is much more comfortable because my car is daily driven. My tanabes are set half way at the moment and the ride is nice and i still get the agressive handling.

Since you like stiffness i would recomend you get a bigger sway bar and make sure you get a subframe reinforcement brace. I just ordered an ASR brace with the 23mm sway bar. I was told this will dramatically improve handling.

I hope this review helps. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing the tanabe so i hope this helps your decision making

jdmdc2jdm is absolutely correct about the spring rate changes. We do suggest revalving with a spring rate change of more than 2kgf/mm. The pillowball mounts will increase your steering feel. These are a step above the commonly changed poly bushings. The kits are sold with pre-determined spring rates so if you want different rates, those springs would need to be purchased separately. We highly suggest that you try the kit, make adjustments, and then purchase additional higher rate springs if you feel the need.

Also Buddy Club does not have 12/10.

N+ 12K/6K
Racing Spec 10K/7K

anything different then those rates were custom ordered from Buddy Club

oh sorry thanks for the correction about the buddy club.

And great job on the TEIN CIVIC Si design Philip. I was very impress after reading it in super street. Looks like lots of body work went into it. Looks great.

Vibration, and noise. They do increase steering feel, as well as bump feel, and they make termite droppings even more noticeable when you run them over. I didn't like the feel of my old SS with the pillow ball uppers. My RS are just over-kill for the street, and I will be selling them pretty soon.
