Default What clutch do I need?

I'm putting a 96 LS motor into my friend's 91 CRX and we're using a 92 LS cable tranny. Which year clutch does he need - one for a 96 or one for a 92? Will the 96 flywheel work or does he need one from a 92?

What about the flywheel? Will the 96 flywheel work with the 92 pressure plate and clutch disk?

yep all b series flywheels are interchangeable, but the clutches are different you can only swap big splines/shaft with big splines/shaft, and small with small. The small ones are 90-91 tegs, first gen b16a, and maybe the 88-91 prelude not sure though, and the big splines are the 92+ b series. HTH

I just wanted to verify that all bseries flywheels are interchangable. So i could use say a '99 typeR flywheel in my LS cable tranny?

Is it a jdm s1 tranny? Cause I have a jdm J1 (same as s1) and a 90-91 teg clutch worked perfect. What dosent fit, disk or pressure plate? It should be the disk that dosent fit if anything. Try a 92-93 disk I guess. Ryan

I have a JDM S1/J1 and I have a 90-91 teg clutch on mine.
I thought the 92+ clutches had too large of an input shaft to use on the 91 and lower? or something like that.

verify that your tranny is in fact a 90-91 S1. the tranny will have a silver sticker that begins with S1 and ity will have an ink stamp that says J1 nearby.

anyone else ran into this problem?

crucial to check the spline size which you can check with those dick tools

i had ys1 tranny with big splines so of course got the small spline clutch disc and had to figure it out the hard way since it seemed like my plastice centering tool (dick) DID fit but the tranny did NOT
