I'm going to replace my gasket for my d16y7, question is when I put some ultra gray on the corners do I put it on the valvecover side of the gasket (between gasket and valve cover) or do I put it on the block then put the gasket then valve cover? Basically between what layers do I put it on? (valvecover, gasket and block)

Some people don't put on any (like myself) and its fine.

But if you do want to, put it on between the HEAD (not the block lol) and the gasket(which is already on the cover). Make sure not to make it too thick because then there might be leaks on the parts where there is no glue.

 

lol, I meant head. But I see some after I put in on the cover then dap some on the corners on the gasket which is cover then set on head? but what happens if I set it on the head and it smears but I won't be able to see it because the cover is back on?
