ill be soon getting a pair of these


people post ur rides with replica type r seats, or bride seats. now i know were gonna get a lot of "you get wut u pay for" deal but ive sat in a wrx with bride replicas and another car with these type r replicas and they felt great, post away and thanks

Have you checked to see if the replica seats are DOT approved?

If not, I wouldn't even think about risking my life with such crap

If so, because you'll probably save a good amount and they look good from what the picture shows

typically replicas seats pose two problems:

Durability.
And Safety.

These seats have gotten good reviews for durability... the fabric is nice, stitching seams to be good, the handles etc seam to last, most find them to be comfy...

But I haven't heard anything regarding crash-testing etc. This is one of the only reasons I'm yet to buy a set. I've seen 'brand-name' seats basically disintegrate under heavy load... I've got a buddy that broke his collar-bones and one of his vertebrae due to poor seat quality. I'd look further into these before trusting your life w/ them.

actually had a friend who ran this "type-r replica" and the whole backing broke in 1/2 after about 2 months of use

was he in a wreck when it happened? that sucks either way. how do you find out if a seat is DOT approved?

some people here on ht wont go near a replica anything not because if there safety, but because they arent name brand.

funny thing is...no he wasnt in an accident, just from daily use, and he isnt a large guy either...

usually these replica seats are NOT DOT approved, thats why they sell them for so cheap
