Default 4th gen cig lighter problem (searched)

ok i searched and found a thread pertaining to my issue but there wasnt a answer there.

issue: cig lighter dosent work

i could not find the fuse for the cig lighter checked manual no luck so i checked every fuse i had none were blown and nothing else in car dosent work. When i bought the car the cig lighter wasnt hooked up so i got a new cig lighter and harness everything and installed that. cig lighter still dosent work...any one know what to do?

edit: the only thing not working on the car is the reverse lights...and hopefully with the new tranny with the new back up light switch they will work.

Grab a voltmeter and check the lines on the harness. Make sure it's getting power. That should answer ur question right there.

expletive doing that. I just took mine out yesterday - it works and everything. Check your wires first though - then if you are getting voltage, let me know. You can get mine. It kinda pops far though I don't smoke, but every time i'm bored, i just push it in and wait.......it pops far as ****. Just pm me later.

theres a black ground wire with a spade connector that has to be hooked up in order for it to work. Maybe that ground wasnt hooked up or it got knocked loose.

ok volt meter came in today i checked the 4 pin plug coming from the car that plugs into the cig lighter harness. i put black in pin 4 (black wire) and red in pin3 (red wire) got nothing. so i tried every other possability and still got nothing. checked all fuses again and none blown. any ideas on where the problem is?

summary: cig lighter not working no fuses blown and no power to wires.

im in there. theres a 4 pin plug in there.
im not pulling power from the car side of the plug so i knwo its not any spade connectors on the cig lighter itself.

has 4 wires.

white/red
red/black
red
black (negative)

i know the black wire is good cause i used that - for my cd player and i pulled 11.7 volts so im down to the other 3 wires

anyone know what the other three wires are?

red 12v constant?
red/black??
white/red???

edit: i put my + lead back into the cd player + and used my - lead on the red/black and pulled 11.8 volts and then put - lead in the red and pulled 11.9 so i know those 3 wires are good

now what is this white/red wire for cuz i cant pull anything off that one. watever its for thats my problem
