Hello all, Im putting this out there to people in MD (or anyone who would like to donate from afar)who may be interested in coming out for a few drinks on Thursday March the 2'nd for a racers charity.

Some co-workers and I will be guest bartending on this night starting at 7pm with all tips and 15% of the bar tab will go to the Ron Katona Motorsports Foundation http://www.therkmf.org/

Here is some info that I got from one of the founders, he is working on geting me more if you all are interested.

We're still working on getting the Foundation fully up and running, and properly
promoted. Ron was a local autocrosser, first with the NCC BMW CCA in a 318ti,
and later as he progressed he bought a '95 M3 and started campaigning it in SCCA
events. He went to SCCA Nationals many times, and won various trophies. His
passion for the sport and willingness to help any and all competitors is why we
started the Foundation to keep his memory and dedication alive. The
Foundation's goal is to promote the sport of Autocross, and help bring new blood
into the sport by helping competitors with some of the expenses related to
getting involved in National level autocross events.

Yeah, I only put it here for the RR/AX'ers when I thought it was going to the RKMF thinking that they may like to give to the comunity, next time Ill put it elsewhere.... **** poor planing on my part

 

Dunno how many people on this board knew Ron, but he was a good guy. I was really just starting to get into motorsports still. Best of luck with the fundraiser. I'm stuck on-call.
